Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful weekend.  Mr. M was home a little over the weekend only working a  half day on saturday.  The babes and I started a new tradition with my brothers family.  We went to their house on Friday and carved punkins.  Then on Saturday we hung out.  And then on Sunday Little Man went with his daddy to shell corn.  Little Miss hung out with me.  And then I got to meet a great family and create some memories taking photos of.  We hope you all have a safe and fun holiday.  Happy Halloween from us!

The Mayberry's

One of the things that I love about my passion for taking pictures is the memories that I can freeze in time.  My favorite part is that I get to take photos of all the things near and dear to my heart.  And my brother, sil and their babies are near and dear to me.  I have taken the babies photos since they were born.  And I hope to be able in several years to take their senior photos.  And the fun part is taking the pictures.  Then I get to see them decorate their home with them.  So here are a few of my favorites that I took last Sunday.  Happy Weekend to everyone.  Stay warm and be safe.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

There's lots to love this Wednesday.  But I will just share of a few.  I hope you all had a wonderful day.

Mr. M is officially done in the fields at work.  So he gets to spend a little more time at home, a little.

Mr. Ms dad PD is healing nicely.  He's still as ornery as ever.  So we know he is gonna be as good as new.

I walked past this statue every day on my way back and forth during FFA Convention.  It's out front of an Indian museum called the Eitljorg.  I recommend it if you enjoy Indian history.

A friend of mine shared this photo on facebook.  I just love it!  We are cattlemen and I do love steak. lol

hair do or dont

I have recently found myself is a strange place.  I have more hair on my head at this point than I have in over 8 years.  In 2003 my best friend and mother died from complications of stomach cancer.  I decided I wanted to do something to remember her by.  At the time my hair was almost to my butt.  So I went to the hair salon and commenced to have it pulled into a ponytail and chopped off.  Over 18 inches of hair gone.  Well I went for the whole enchilada, and cut it to about 3/4 of an inch all over my head.  And it was such a liberating feeling.  Someone got a beautiful wig to wear and I got the feeling of helping someone.
So for 8 plus years I have kept my hair short.  It's easy peasy.  Then last October I decided to grow it out a little.  It's been a struggle.  I have wanted so often to cut it off.  But finally after a year.  I have what I think is a decent style.  I kept it short in the back and longer on the sides.  And for the first time it gets in my eyes.  I can feel the wind blowing through it.  And I get to play around with it a little.  But the best part, I gave something to someone.  Hair is just hair to me, but to someone that has lost it due to illness it is an ego booster to have it back.  So next time you are over your do, just donate it! You will feel awesome and make someone else feel beautiful.  Happy Tuesday to you.

Unmanic Monday

Monday is here and I'm okay with it.  Last week I worked at the National FFA Convention.  So I was gone from early morning till late evening.  Thankfully I have a wonderful MIL and Husband.  He knows how much I enjoy going.  And I only do this twice a year.  And my MIL was great.  She picked the babes up everyday, got their homework done and made supper each evening.  Which was great. I got to come home, hang with the babes and relax each evening.  Yesterday I got all 8 loads of laundry done. (I have a large capacity washer, lol) Dishes caught up.  Got Queen Lily scrubbed. And I ended the day by taking my brother and his families photos.  So this week is just a week of catch up.  And I'm okay with that.  It's amazing what a week away working with friends and meeting some great kids will do.  Happy Monday!

Manic Mondays

The weekend has once again flown by.  But what a weekend it was.  Beans are done at the BILs house. And we only have about 15 more acres here.  Then on to my FILs.  Then bring on the corn.  But I think with the forecast we may get slowed down.  There's rain that's supposed to come in.  Speaking of things coming in.  Look out for all the blue and gold that will be in Indianapolis this week.  It's national FFA Convention.  I get to spend the week there.  I get to hang out with my friends, speak to adults and see a lot of kids from all over the United States!  And then on Thursday, the Little Man and I will be on a field trip to the zoo.  I was supposed to do photos for my brother and SIL.  But the weather wasn't cooperating.  So we will try and get them done on this weekend.  And another friend is coming for me to take a few photos for her and her family.  I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.  Be safe and enjoy every minute...

The life we love.

Many people I see and talk to don't enjoy getting up everyday.  They complain about not enough sleep, hating the job they go to, not liking the people they work with or just feel like they are in a rut.  I can't say that.  I am very blessed to do the most amazing job.  I wake up every morning around 5-5:30 and send Mr. M off to work with lunch and coffee.  Then it's coffee and the news for me.  Then waking our babes.  Taking them to school.  Then home for chores and whatever I have planned for the day.  That may sound boring to some, but I love it.  I get to wear jeans, tennis shoes and tshirts/sweatshirts.  I don't have to wear makeup or even do my hair.  I'm here when the babes get home every day. And I get to hang out with animals that love me because I feed them and they don't talk bad or argue with me.  If you are doing something that you don't love, you and only you can change that.

Right now is the best time of the year, Harvest!  All of our friends and neighbors are out in full force.  This is the life we have chosen for ourselves and our children.  And sometimes that means we don't have all the things those around us do.  But we do have each other, love, food, shelter and clothing.  All of that is more important than anything else.  And I am so happy with the path that we have chosen for our family!

Manic Mondays

Today was a typical Monday for me.... Run, run and more running.  Well, I actually drove.  Mr. M was off bright and early.  Got the babes off to school.  Did chores.  Ran a few errands.  Picked up my MIL for my FIL. Lunch and then some housework.  Babes home from school, snacks and homework.  Then chores and supper.  Now I'm waiting for Mr. M to get home and the babes are snuggled into bed.
Life is wonder full and full of adventure right now.  We are burning the candle at both ends.  But its all worth it.  I love seeing all the farmers out in the fields.  Sometimes I just stop and watch.  They probably think I'm weird.  But I can't help it.  Please remember to leave a little early.  Take your time. Because the people that feed and grow your food are out in full force trying to make a living.

Take Care!

My Favorite Things - Winter Clothes...

The weather is changing.  Right now we are having an Indian Summer.  It was 82 yesterday.  And today is supposed to be warmer.  But before we know it, it's gonna get cold.  I actually ordered our Little Man a new winter coat a few days ago.  Things don't slow down here just because it's cold.  The animals still need food, water and bedding.  So we have multiple hats, gloves, scarves, bibs, coats and long johns.  It's always funny to me when I do spring and winter cleaning how many of one thing we have.  A set of good, dress up and barn of shoes, coats and clothes.  So here are a few of my favorites.  What are your favorite keep warm outside clothes?  Happy Weekend to everyone.  Be safe.

Carhartt bibs are  a must!  I love the black, they are the arctic series.

A heavy coat.

A light weight coat.  Sometimes I bundle too much, and wear a lighter weight coat.

This is Mr. Ms favorite thing.  He wears them especially when on the tractors or when it's really cold.

These neck warmers are great.  The kids even like them.

These ear warmers are nice.  And I like them for when we are in the barn and don't want to wear a hat.

I love this hat because it's colorful.. But it is fleece lined.

We like these gloves, because the velcro at the wrist.  And we can wear them all year.

My Favorite Things - Tops...

Well, I have shared with you a few of my favorite britches and shoes.  Now it's my favorite tops.  I like casual, easy and low maintenance. I like browns, orange and turquoise colors.  So that's mostly what color my closet is.  I am not a girly girl, I don't like ruffles or sequins.  But I do have a young Little Miss so I try a little harder to not be tom boy ALL the time.  I love t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts and sweaters.  So mostly cool weather tops.  I rarely dress up, I spend most of my time in the barn.  And the animals really don't care what I look like as long as they get fed... What's your favorite kind of top to wear?  Happy Thursday to Everyone!

This is my favorite long sleeve t-shirt..

I wear this sweatshirt all the time..it's my LiveStock Showgirls sweatshirt.

I LOVE cover ups.  They hide my arms.  I got this one at Maurice's.  I will not mention how many of these I have. :)

This sweater is so incredibly soft and comfortable.  I love the style of these kid of sweaters.

This is Little Mans new shirt at Livestock Showgirls.  It's one of my photos and I love how it turned out.

My Favorite Thinsg - Britches...

I am posting a day early because I have a very early, super uber busy day tomorrow.  And hopefully I will get to see two very special little people that I adore.  Anyway, I wanted to share some of my favorite britches with you.  I love britches! They come in so many designs.  I'm very picky about my britches because I wear them so much. They have to be fun, durable and not show my ankles when I sit down!  I don't own a pair of sweatpants, so I wear jeans most all of the time.  I  have found a brand that I love.  They are comfy, fit my strangely long legs and stack the way I like.  And i can wear them with any kind of shoe I like.  I can dress up or down with them.  And it only took me more than half of my life to find them.  So when I find them on sale I buy them. They are Tuff jeans.  What's your favorite type of britches?  Happy Tuesday...

Tuff-Ain't My Day To Care jeans.  These are my favorite!

Tuff-Dark Don't Fence Me In.  I love the coloring on these.

I have more of these jeans but these are a few of my favorites right now.  And that's not me in the photos.  I like to take photos and not be in them.
