I havent posted in a while. Things are crazy! I've taken pictures for a couple of folks, we are cutting hay, getting fair projects ready and we are doing some work to the outside of the house! On Sunday, Mark and I spent all day finishing a 10 acre lot in our woods for the cows to graze. We are ripping out the old and installing new 6 strand high tensil. It wouldn't have been so bad but the bugs are awful with all the rain!

Gobble, Gobble
We have a few new additons to the farm this month. We have 5 baby turkeys. These are just 2 of them. The others are black and yellow. We have what will be all whites and bronze. They are a lot harder to keep going than the regular chickens. They are livin in a water trough in the barn under a heat lamp for now. They are starting to get wing feathers and are growing quickly. I'll have to get more up to date pictures for everyone.

Heifer: Heat Seeker X Bad MedicinexAngus; Embryo
Mark asked to take pictures of the calves. Soo heres a few of them. Of 12 calves right now, 3 are boys. And most of them came at the end of the calving. The black/white embroy bull and the red embryo heifer are full sibs. One heifer and one bull are at other farms, so we haven't gotten their pictures yet. Ones in Ohio, so who knows when we will get there.

Bottle Baby!
This is the calf that we had last friday. His momma didnt make it. After having the vet look at her and baby. We decided our boy was born breach. His tail is broken and there was evidence that he tore the cows insides. Soo we are his parents now. Its not soo bad except all the bottle cleaning, which I have never done. He will be a week old tommorrow. So we will be boosting him from 4 qts a day to 6. And gettn ready to introducing him to creep feed. He needs a lot of food because he weighed 11olbs when he was born!
