Where to begin. Each year we give the kids a heifer. The idea being that when we sell the calves from these calves, that is 4-H money. Or if we keep the calf, the kids will have a small herd when they head out on their own.

Mahlias heifer lost her calf 60 days early. It was the heifer she was hoping for. So we are gonna try again. Shes with the bull now. Garretts heifer didnt breed. So we sold her. He used his money and bought a new heifer. I will have to get good photos of her sometime. Luckily one of our donor cows gave us a beautiful heifer. So the fun begins next month with babies everywhere. I will try and get photos so you can enjoy the wonderfullness of the experience with us.

For Christmas the kids got hamsters. We can't seem to have enough critters running around inside or outside.

Garretts is this gray, his name is Ezrah. Hes moody, but the kids can handle them.

This is mahlia's hammy, his name is pipsquek. Hes super friendly.

We actuallly took the first ones back because they were very aggressive and would bite the kids.

We had freezing fog, so i decided to take advantage. Mark thought it was funny that I was taking pictures of cockleburs. I think they are kinda neat looking.

We took advantage of all the snow & went tubing. It was sooo much fun.

Our little princess turned 7 in December. She got a baby that poops and pees. she has to feed it and then change its diaper. Yuck!

But she loves it and thats all that counts.

First of December brought The Hoosier Beef Congress.
Garrett showed for the first time. His heifer is a calf out of the herd. She is an appendix shorthorn we named Disco, because her daddy's name is Jake's Proud Jazz.

I haven't posted in a long time, so I'm gonna get everyone up to speed & make it a point to keep up.

Halloween was fun! We went to my brother & sister-in-laws again. Garrett was a mummy, Mahlia was Sharpei from high school musical, Colten was batman & Kylee was a beautiful ladybug.

Our bowl was overflowing, because my brother & Garrett pilage like crazy!
