FFA Convention....

This past week was FFA Convention.  I was there Wednesday till Saturday.  It was crazy busy all around Indianapolis.  But it was cool to see all the blue and gold jackets walking around.  I got to meet some great kids.  The teachers and adviser's.  And talk to people from all over.  Most of the kids are super polite and friendly.  And I say every year I'm going to get pictures and I never do.  I get busy with all the kids and forget all about it.  But I did make it a point to walk over to the FFA booth and get a sweatshirt this year.  This was the last year for three years for it to be here.  For the next three years it will be held in Louisville, Kentucky.  And then it will head back here.
Now we are preparing for the start of NAILE.  I am going to try and get pictures for this.  I was surprised talking to several of the FFA kids that they had never heard of NAILE.  If you make it to the show stop by the Cowpokes booth and say hi.  Take care and have a wonderful week!

Our Wonderful Miss Harley....

Miss Harley, our smallest dog.
She is a toy fox terrier, weighing around 14lbs.
Of our 5 dogs she is the smallest and meanest.
She takes on cats larger than her.
And she is the best mouser than any cat.

She loves to sleep and cuddle.
And follow you around everywhere.

Please don't take my picture!

We got Harley when Little Man was 7 mnths old.
She was so smalls she fit into both of my hands.
She only weighed around 1 1/2 lbs.

Her and Little Man hung out and got into trouble together as they both grew.

And of course being a small dog, she loves to sleep with you and be on blankets.

Miss Harley became ill a few weeks ago.  So i took her to the vet.  After a few tests we learned many things.
She had anemia, she had finally become diabetic and her liver was shutting down.
We decided to medicate her for a weeks time to get her all better and get the fluids off her body.
Unfortunately, the meds did not effect anything.
A week ago today we decided we didn't want her to suffer or get worse, so we helped her cross over the rainbow bridge.
It was one of the hardest things I have had to do, but I did it for her.

Our family has a piece of it missing, And her sister Kimber misses her.
We had almost 12 years with her. And she gave us love, laughs and her trust.
We love and miss you Harley.

My walk in the woods....

i love the texture on these!

there are lots of thorns, but they dont bother the cows.

i sat at the bottom of this tree and thought i would share the view above.

i love our woods!

peek a boo, beauty was trying to sneek up on me

as i was heading up to the house a storm was brewing

i LOVE these

poor little mushroom...

yesterday was a super windy day, but i just didnt want to be in the house.  so i grabbed the big girl camera, called my shadow, Duff and Possum and we headed to the woods.  once in the woods, the wind is almost non existant and so calming.  i loved just walking around looking up, down and all around! watching the dogs with their noses to the ground.  the wonderful smells and the fresh air.  i only walked about half the woods, so maybe i will venture the other two halves one day while its not raining.  i hope you all are having a great week.  have a wonderful weekend and take care!

Making Progress....

Last week the corn was standing and ready to harvest.

Then Mr. M zipped around the fields in this monster!

And I played with a little sun flare.
It makes me happy.

Then this showed up and we had to stop shelling corn.
But we did get all of the beans out of the field.

Have a great week!

Kicking and Screaming!

Yes we are still around.  Things have been at full speed around here.
The babies are wrapping up soccer. And have had their first progress report.
We have started to get equipment moved.  And are getting into harvest mode.
I have been nesting.  I have swapped two rooms in our  house.
And now I am painting and wallpapering.
It will feel like a new house this winter.

I have lots of photos and stories to share with all of you.
So I will get back to it.
I hope you all are well and happy.
take care!
